Jerome Jelinek

CEO & General Counsel

Mr. Jelinek was the founder of CSS in 1992, and has been its CEO and General Counsel since that time. Prior to CSS, Mr. Jelinek was in private practice in southeastern Michigan, concentrating in real estate law and commercial litigation. He is a past-president of the Michigan Land Title Association. In addition to the MLTA, Mr. Jelinek is a member of the American Land Title Association, the State Bar of Michigan and the State Bar of Florida. He received his B.A. from Hope College and his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Mr. Jelinek lives in Traverse City, Michigan, with his wife, Jill. They have two daughters, Ashley and Aria. He is active in the community and enjoys tennis, biking and swimming.

Ms. Jelinek oversees all operations, as well as the Information Technology and Accounting teams. Prior to CSS, she worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company.  In this role, she provided strategic and operational guidance to large companies in a variety of industries including healthcare, hospitality, and insurance.

Ms. Jelinek received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.  She lives in Chicago and enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and traveling in her free time.

Debbie Bartlett, CLTP

Executive Vice President, Title & Closing Operations

Ms. Bartlett's career began in 1982 at Northern Michigan Title Company in Charlevoix, Michigan, where she eventually served as President. Her experience is multi-faceted in both the residential and commercial real estate and includes title, closings, underwriting, policies and construction. She joined the CSS staff in 2003, and currently oversees the Michigan offices while also coordinating closing services for National Operations.

Debbie is a graduate of Ferris State University. A native of northern Michigan, she lives in East Jordan with her husband, Steve.

Ms. Bartlett serves on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Land Title Association and serves as chairperson for its Professional Development Committee. She has achieved the professional designation of Certified Land Title Professional through the Michigan Land Title Association, a designation that represents the highest measure of achievement in the land title insurance profession. She is an affiliate member of the Antrim-Charlevoix-Kalkaska Association of Realtors, a licensed Real Estate Broker, and a licensed title insurance agent in Michigan. She enjoys camping and spending time with her three children.

Kevin Ingles

Vice President, Customer Development

Mr. Ingles brings over 18 years of sales and operations management experience to Corporate Settlement Solutions. His career in the title industry began with an operations management position at CBC Companies. During his tenure with CBC Companies, Mr. Ingles was responsible for CBC Companies National Credit Reporting Division and their two flood determination companies, Flood Zone Determination Services and GE Flood Services. Mr. Ingles has also held executive level sales positions with First American Title and Fidelity National Financial where he excelled at creating title solutions for his customers.

Mr. Ingles earned his BSBA from Duquesne University. He lives in Canonsburg Pennsylvania with his wife Carolyn. They have two sons, Connor and Justin.

Sherri Zahtilla

Vice President, Valuation & Title Operations

Ms. Zahtilla has over 25 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry, holding various positions in servicing large regional and national lending institutions. Prior to joining Corporate Settlement Solutions, Sherri worked as Vice President of Customer Service at Old Republic Title Insurance Company, responsible for building their valuation and ancillary product departments and overseeing product quality control. She also worked as the Customer Service Operations Director at TRW and; Record Data, responsible for managing a large customer service staff and created a quality control outreach program to ensure that customers were provided exceptional customer service.

At Corporate Settlement Solutions, Ms. Zahtilla has been instrumental in building a valuation department that provides lenders, banks and credit unions with nationwide coverage for traditional appraisals, limited valuations, automated valuation models, and flood certifications.

Throughout her career with national Vendor Management companies Ms. Zahtilla has been focused on identifying customer's expectations and unique requirements, and building processes and procedures to meet their needs, building long-term relationships.

John Krupp

John currently holds the position of Vice President-Information Technology for Corporate Settlement Solutions. He is responsible for leading the technology teams focused on designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure, along with systems solutions that are aligned to support corporate business objectives while driving growth. Prior to joining CSS, Mr. Krupp has held senior management positions within the healthcare insurance industry and the manufacturing business sector.

John attended Central Michigan University. He enjoys outdoor activities such as golf and fishing that are abundant in the local region area. John and his family reside in Traverse City.

Ms. Lapp joined Corporate Settlement Solutions in 2009, she brings a broad business perspective and specialized product knowledge to customer development having served in the areas of talent attainment & development, maximizing organizational structure, and strategic compensation & benefits practices.

A graduate of Central Michigan University, Laurie lives with her family in Traverse City, Michigan.  She enjoys competitive fencing, great food with good company, and outdoor activities.

Maura A. Snabes, Esq., CES, CLTP

Vice President, Senior Underwriting & Compliance Counsel

Ms. Snabes practices in the area of Real Estate and Corporate Law. Ms. Snabes has been the corporate legal counsel for a title company since 1994 and has been with Corporate Settlement Solutions since 2002, as the underwriting and claims counsel. She is a Certified Exchange Specialist® as certified by the Federation of Exchange Accommodators and is the founder and co-owner of Corporate Title Exchange Services which was founded in 1995 and which is a qualified intermediary for forward, reverse and build-to-suit tax-deferred exchanges. She regularly gives seminars on 1031 exchanges and other real estate matters to real estate and tax professionals in Northern Michigan.

Ms. Snabes is highly involved with the community and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan; Charlevoix-Emmet Bar Association; Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity; Antrim-Charlevoix-Kalkaska Association of Realtors. She is also a licensed Michigan real estate broker and a Certified Land Title Professional (CLTP).

Ms. Snabes lives with her husband and three children in Charlevoix, Michigan and enjoys singing and participating in and watching competitive sports.

Matt Powis

Vice President, Finance

Mr. Powis joined Corporate Settlement Solutions in 2015, bringing over 20 years of experience in accounting and financial management.  Prior to CSS, he held various positions in public, private and government sectors.  In those positions, he was responsible for designing accounting systems that focus on strong internal controls and providing efficient processes.  That work has continued at CSS with an emphasis on developing a secure financial reporting model.  Matt holds a license as a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Michigan Association of CPAs.

A graduate of Northwood University, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, traveling, playing golf with friends and taking advantage of all that Traverse City offers in summertime activities.

Ms. Jelinek has been involved at the management level with Corporate Settlement Solutions, LLC, since its inception in 1992. Previous areas of focus included accounting and human resources. She now oversees title licensing and Appraisal Management Company registration for all states. Prior to CSS, Ms. Jelinek was in banking and human resources consulting. She received her B.A. from Hope College, with additional studies in the area of human resources and is a Certified Paralegal.
Ms. Jelinek lives in Traverse City, Michigan with her husband, Jerome. They have two daughters, Ashley and Aria. She is active in the community and enjoys tennis, cycling, reading and travel.
